Gyroplane Videos and More

About Me

I live in Houston Texas and work as a Project Manager for an industrial painting company that does business primarily in the power industry, pipelines, ship yards, and shop applications.

I married Christie in 1982 and together have three daughters and one grandson.

My interests along with gyros is golfing and rock music. I got interested in gyros in 2001 when we attended the PRA convention near Waxahachie Texas. I fell in love with those flying machines that weekend but didn't start until last summer. In 2004 I had a bad motorcycle wreck, nobodys fault but mine, and tore my leg up. The first doctors said it would have to be amputaed but one doctor did save it. After a year of surgeries that doctor told me there was nothing else he could do for me so I had to find another. Dr. Mark Brinker in Houston (also co-writer of the movie Untraceable) is one of only ten doctors in the US that does the limb reconstruction I needed. He had to remove three inches of bone that was so damaged and infected that it would never get better and put an Ilizarov (see pictures) on my leg so I could grow the three inches back. I also had mucle removed from my back and skin from my thiegh to be used to repair the damaged tissue on my leg. So actually I was starting all over again after one year of getting nowhere. I wore the Ilizarov for a year and a half before it was removed and then broke it again in two places. I now have a rod in my leg and finally started walking without cruches last August. After three and a half years with two years of physical therapy three times a week I was walking again. This is when I decided that I need to start gyros.

I also have another hobby, a Schwinn Krate collection. These were made from 1968 to 1973. There were six different models, I have one of each.

The rest of my time is spent playing golf or collecting and watching concert DVDs.
